बर्लिन की दीवार: विभाजन से एकता तक—मेरी 39 वर्षों की यात्रा का पूर्ण चक्र — राम मोहन राय राइखस्टाग (जर्मन संसद भवन) का शांत और गरिमामय वातावरण अपने हृदय में संजोकर हम पुनः मेट्रो से आगे बढ़े। हमारा अगला पड़ाव था— पूर्वी बर्लिन (East Berlin) का वह ऐतिहासिक क्षेत्र, जहाँ कभी जर्मन लोकतांत्रिक गणराज्य (GDR) की राजधानी धड़कती थी। जैसे ही हम स्टेशन पर उतरे, ऐसा लगा मानो समय अचानक पीछे लौट गया हो। स्मृतियों के द्वार खुल गए और वर्ष 1987 की मेरी पहली बर्लिन यात्रा चलचित्र की भाँति आँखों के सामने घूमने लगी। स्टेशन से कुछ दूर चलते ही हम उस स्थान पर पहुँचे जहाँ कभी बर्लिन की दीवार खड़ी थी—वह दीवार जिसने केवल एक शहर को नहीं, बल्कि लाखों दिलों को बाँट दिया था। यह ईंट-पत्थरों की साधारण दीवार नहीं थी; यह अविश्वास, भय, वैमनस्य और वैचारिक संघर्ष का प्रतीक थी। इसने एक ही संस्कृति, एक ही भाषा और एक ही परिवार के लोगों को दो हिस्सों में बाँट दिया था। कितने ही परिवार ऐसे थे जिनके माता-पिता एक ओर रह गए और बच्चे दूसरी ओर। भाई इधर था तो बहन उधर। कोई रिश्तेदार मिलने गय...
