 1. युवाओं की विचारधारात्मक प्रतिबद्धता

इस यात्रा की शुरुआत दो युवा साथियों, "अर्चिष्मान राजू** और **नंदिता चतुर्वेदी**, के साथ हुई। दोनों ही राजनीतिक और सामाजिक रूप से वैचारिक प्रतिबद्धता रखते हैं। उन्होंने अपनी उच्च शिक्षा अमेरिका के फिलाडेल्फिया में प्राप्त की और वहां **Saturday Free School** से जुड़े। यह संस्था विश्व प्रसिद्ध विचारक और अफ्रीकी-अमेरिकी नेता **डॉ. एंथनी मोंटेरो** के नेतृत्व में काम करती है। डॉ. मोंटेरो के सानिध्य में उन्होंने अपनी वैचारिक समृद्धि को और गहराई से विकसित किया।

   "अर्चिष्मान" के माता-पिता समाजवादी विचारधारा से जुड़े रहे हैं, जबकि नंदिता के पिता भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा में एक अधिकारी रहे हैं। इस प्रकार, दोनों की पृष्ठभूमि में विचारधारात्मक और प्रशासनिक दोनों ही पहलू शामिल हैं, जिसने उन्हें एक संतुलित और समृद्ध दृष्टिकोण दिया।

 2. Saturday Free School और भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम की 75वीं वर्षगांठ

मेरा संपर्क  अर्चिष्मान और नंदिता से उनकी ऊर्जावान सक्रियता के माध्यम से हुआ। संयोगवश, जब मैं अमेरिका में था, वे भारत आए हुए थे। Saturday Free School से मेरा परिचय युवा शांतिकर्मी **देविका मित्तल** के माध्यम से हुआ, जिन्होंने मुझे **जहान चौधरी** और फिर पूरी टीम से मिलवाया। इस संस्था की एक सशक्त युवा टीम है, जिसने भारतीय आजादी की 75वीं वर्षगांठ के उपलक्ष्य में एक पांच दिवसीय कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया। इस कार्यक्रम में शामिल होने का मुझे भी अवसर मिला, जो फिलाडेल्फिया में आयोजित हुआ था। इसी कारण मैं Saturday Free School और भारत में रह रहे इन दोनों युवाओं से जुड़ा।

 3. नई तालीम रीडिंग ग्रुप की शुरुआत

नंदिता और  अर्चिष्मान     के प्रयासों से **नई तालीम रीडिंग ग्रुप** की शुरुआत हुई। इस ग्रुप में हर पंद्रह दिन में ऑनलाइन किसी न किसी ख्यातिप्राप्त विद्वान की रचनाओं को पढ़ने और समझने का अवसर मिलता है। इस ग्रुप के माध्यम से हमने **दीदी निर्मला देशपांडे**, **एस.ए. डांगे** और **गुरुदेव रबींद्रनाथ टैगोर** की चीन यात्रा के शताब्दी वर्ष में उनके महत्व को पढ़ा। यह प्रयास हमें यह समझने में मददगार रहा कि वैश्विक स्तर पर भारत और चीन की मैत्री आज के समय में क्यों प्रासंगिक है।

 4. गुरुदेव टैगोर की चीन यात्रा का शताब्दी वर्ष

यह वर्ष गुरुदेव रबींद्रनाथ टैगोर की चीन यात्रा का शताब्दी वर्ष है। **गांधी ग्लोबल फैमिली** ने इसके महत्व को देखते हुए इस पूरे वर्ष को अन्य संगठनों के साथ मिलकर पूरे देश में मनाया। बेंगलुरु, दिल्ली और अन्य स्थानों पर बृहद कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए गए। इसी दौरान यह विचार उत्पन्न हुआ कि क्यों न गुरुदेव टैगोर की जन्मस्थली और कार्यस्थल पर जाया जाए। हमारे लिए यह वर्ष का औपचारिक समापन नहीं, बल्कि एक नई शुरुआत है, जिसे हम कोलकाता और शांतिनिकेतन की यात्रा के माध्यम से करना चाहते हैं। हम चीन भी जाना चाहते हैं, लेकिन अभी कुछ तकनीकी कारणों से यह संभव नहीं हो पाया है। हम वहां जाकर न केवल चीन के लोगों के गुरुदेव के प्रति प्यार को देखना चाहते हैं, बल्कि यह भी समझना चाहते हैं कि भारत जैसी विशाल आबादी वाले देश ने कैसे गरीबी उन्मूलन का कार्य किया।

 5. शांतिनिकेतन और चीन भवन

इस यात्रा के लिए सबसे पहले **विश्वभारती, शांतिनिकेतन** में **चीन भवन** के विभागाध्यक्ष **डॉ. अविजित बैनर्जी ** से संपर्क किया गया। उनके सार्थक जवाब और सहयोग की पेशकश ने हमें इस यात्रा के लिए आधार प्रदान किया। डॉ. अविजित के मार्गदर्शन में हमने यात्रा की तैयारी की और अब हम शांतिनिकेतन पहुंचे हैं।

 6. तीर्थयात्रा का महत्व

यह यात्रा एक तीर्थयात्रा के समान है, जहां हम गुरुदेव टैगोर की विरासत को समझने और उनके विचारों को आत्मसात करने के लिए आए हैं। शांतिनिकेतन में उनकी शिक्षा और संस्कृति की गहरी छाप है, जो हमें एक नई दृष्टि और ऊर्जा प्रदान करती है। यह यात्रा न केवल अतीत को समझने का अवसर है, बल्कि भविष्य की दिशा में एक कदम है, जहां हम भारत और चीन के बीच मैत्री और सहयोग को और मजबूत करना चाहते हैं।

It is a story that bridges continents, ideologies, and generations, culminating in a pilgrimage to the birthplace of one of India’s greatest thinkers, Rabindranath Tagore. Below is a detailed account of how this journey came into existence.

### 1. The Foundation: Archishman Raju and Nandita Chaturvedi

The journey begins with two young, ideologically committed individuals, Archishman Raju and Nandita Chaturvedi. Both are deeply rooted in socio-political thought and have pursued their higher education in Philadelphia, USA. During their time there, they became associated with the **Saturday Free School**, a platform that fosters intellectual growth and ideological discourse. Under the mentorship of the renowned Afro-American thinker and leader, **Dr. Anthony Monteiro**, they enriched their ideological perspectives.

Archishman’s parents have long been associated with socialist ideology, while Nandita’s father served as an administrative officer in the Indian civil services. This diverse yet ideologically rich background shaped their worldview and prepared them for the journey ahead.

### 2. The Connection: A Meeting of Minds

My connection with Archishman and Nandita began through their energetic activism. Coincidentally, while I was in the USA, they were visiting India. It was during my travels in America that I was introduced to the **Saturday Free School** through **Devika Mittal**, a young peace activist, and later through **Jahan Choudhry**, who connected me with the entire team. The Free School has a vibrant youth team, and I had the opportunity to participate in a five-day program in Philadelphia, organized to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence. This event marked the beginning of my association with the Free School and its members, including Archishman and Nandita, who were now based in India.

### 3. The Initiative: Nai Taleem Reading Group

One of the most significant outcomes of Archishman and Nandita’s efforts was the establishment of the **Nai Taleem Reading Group**. This initiative, which meets every fortnight, provides a platform to read and discuss the works of renowned scholars. Through this group, we explored the writings of **Didi Nirmala Deshpande**, **S.A. Dange**, and, most notably, **Rabindranath Tagore**, particularly focusing on his visit to China a century ago. This reading group not only deepened our understanding of Tagore’s global vision but also highlighted the relevance of India-China friendship in today’s world.

### 4. The Centenary Celebration: Tagore’s China Visit

The year marked the centenary of Rabindranath Tagore’s visit to China. Recognizing its significance, the **Gandhi Global Family**, in collaboration with other organizations, celebrated this milestone across India. Events were held in cities like Bengaluru and Delhi, where the legacy of Tagore’s visit was revisited. During these celebrations, the idea emerged to visit Tagore’s birthplace and workplace, **Shantiniketan**, as a way to honor his contributions. For us, this was not just the conclusion of the centenary year but the beginning of a new chapter. We envisioned this journey as a pilgrimage, one that would take us to Kolkata and Shantiniketan. We also aspired to visit China, though technical challenges delayed this plan. Our goal was not only to witness the love and respect the Chinese people have for Tagore but also to understand how China, a country with a massive population, successfully addressed poverty alleviation.

### 5. The Preparation: Collaboration with Shantiniketan

To make this journey possible, we reached out to **Dr. Avijit**, the head of the **China Bhavan** department at **Visva-Bharati University** in Shantiniketan. His insightful responses and generous support provided us with the foundation we needed to proceed. With his guidance, we prepared for the journey, both intellectually and logistically.

### 6. The Pilgrimage: Arrival at Shantiniketan

Finally, the opportunity arrived, and we embarked on this pilgrimage to Shantiniketan. This journey is not just a physical one but also a spiritual and intellectual exploration. It is a tribute to Rabindranath Tagore’s legacy and a step towards understanding the shared cultural and ideological heritage of India and China.
