National Flag Hoisted at National Gandhi Museum to Mark the Beginning of the Yatra

New Delhi, August 12, 2026:

Marking the 80th anniversary of India’s Independence, the ‘Aaghaz-e-Dosti Aman Yatra’, dedicated to the ideals of peace, national unity, integrity, communal harmony and friendship, commenced today from the National Gandhi Museum, Rajghat, New Delhi.

The Yatra was formally inaugurated by Shri Sanjay Damayanti, Secretary, Central Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, and Ms. Komal Vashishth, Administrative Officer, National Gandhi Museum, by hoisting and saluting the National Flag. The participants and guests pledged to carry forward the message of Mahatma Gandhi—truth, non-violence, peace, harmony and brotherhood.

The Yatra will travel from Rajghat, Delhi, through Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar, to the memorials of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev at Hussainiwala. It seeks to connect people, particularly the younger generation, with the values of peace, non-violence, national unity, communal harmony and friendship among peoples.

‘The Yatra will become a vehicle for spreading Gandhian thought’: Sanjay Damayanti

Chief Guest Shri Sanjay Damayanti said that such journeys are not merely physical journeys from one place to another, but powerful vehicles for carrying ideas and values into society.

He said that the ‘Aaghaz-e-Dosti Aman Yatra will become a vehicle for spreading the thoughts and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and will reach every section of society.

He emphasised that Gandhi’s message of truth, non-violence, dialogue, compassion and brotherhood is particularly relevant in the present times. He expressed the hope that the Yatra would reach villages, towns and cities and inspire young people to become ambassadors of peace and harmony.

Gandhi Museum is a living repository of Gandhi’s life and philosophy: Komal Vashishth

Guest of Honour Ms. Komal Vashishth, Administrative Officer, National Gandhi Museum, said that there is an urgent need for initiatives and journeys dedicated to world peace, national unity, integrity and friendship.

She said that Mahatma Gandhi was not merely a leader of India but a guiding light for humanity. His message of truth, non-violence, compassion, love and peaceful coexistence needs to be carried forward to the younger generation.

Introducing the National Gandhi Museum, she said that the Museum is an important repository of documents, photographs, memorabilia and other materials relating to Mahatma Gandhi’s life, work, philosophy and role in India’s freedom movement. The Museum plays an important role in preserving Gandhi’s legacy and making his ideas accessible to present and future generations.

She observed that beginning a peace and friendship journey from Rajghat, the sacred memorial associated with Mahatma Gandhi, was both significant and inspirational.

Continuing the Legacy of the 1985 Aaghaz-e-Dosti Initiative: Ram Mohan Rai

Ram Mohan Rai, Advocate, Patron of the Yatra, recalled that the Aaghaz-e-Dosti initiative was started in 1985 by veteran journalist and peace advocate Kuldip Nayar, social worker Nirmala Deshpande, Mohini Giri and Dr. Syeda Hameed, with the objective of promoting people-to-people dialogue, peace and friendship.

He said that the present Yatra is an effort to carry forward that legacy and connect it with a new generation.

Ram Mohan Rai emphasised that the ‘Aaghaz-e-Dosti Aman Yatra’ is not a political journey, but a journey of humanity, peace, friendship, brotherhood and harmony. He said that on the 80th anniversary of India’s Independence, the Yatra seeks to pay tribute to the sacrifices of the freedom fighters while reaffirming India’s commitment to peace, unity and communal harmony.

He added that the Yatra would pay homage to the martyrs at Jallianwala Bagh and later offer tributes at the memorials of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev at Hussainiwala.

Coordinator Thanks Participants and Supporters

Sanjay Kumar, Coordinator of the Yatra, welcomed the distinguished guests, participants, partner organisations and citizens present on the occasion and expressed his gratitude for their support.

He said that young people, students, women and social activists from different parts of the country are participating in the Yatra and will collectively carry the message of peace, unity, harmony and friendship to people across the country.

The programme concluded with the participants paying their respects to Mahatma Gandhi and the known and unknown martyrs of India’s freedom struggle before proceeding with the Yatra.

नई दिल्ली से कुरुक्षेत्र तक यात्रा का विभिन्न स्थानों पर उत्साहपूर्ण स्वागत

विश्व शांति, राष्ट्रीय एकता, सांप्रदायिक सद्भाव और जन-मैत्री का संदेश लेकर निकली “आगाज़-ए-दोस्ती अमन यात्रा” ने राष्ट्रीय गांधी संग्रहालय, राजघाट, नई दिल्ली से प्रस्थान कर कुरुक्षेत्र तक अपनी यात्रा के दौरान नौ प्रमुख स्थानों पर पहुंचकर लोगों को शांति, भाईचारे और सामाजिक एकता का संदेश दिया। भारत की स्वतंत्रता की 80वीं वर्षगांठ के अवसर पर आयोजित यह यात्रा गांधीवादी विचारों, लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों तथा आपसी प्रेम और सद्भाव को मजबूत करने के उद्देश्य से आयोजित की गई है।

यात्रा के राजघाट से प्रस्थान के बाद हरिजन सेवक संघ के कार्यकर्ताओं ने बराड़ी चौक पर यात्रियों का गर्मजोशी से स्वागत किया। बड़ी संख्या में स्थानीय कार्यकर्ता और नागरिक इस अवसर पर उपस्थित रहे और उन्होंने शांति तथा सामाजिक समरसता के इस अभियान के प्रति अपना समर्थन व्यक्त किया।

मुरथल में ऑल इंडिया यूथ फेडरेशन के नेता श्री राजीव वर्मा, हरियाणा ज्ञान विज्ञान समिति के नेता श्री शिलक राम तथा सैकड़ों युवा साथियों ने यात्रा का स्वागत किया। युवाओं ने देश में शांति, वैज्ञानिक सोच, लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों और राष्ट्रीय एकता को मजबूत करने की आवश्यकता पर अपने विचार रखे।

इसके पश्चात गन्नौर में ऑल इंडिया स्टूडेंट्स फेडरेशन से जुड़े सैकड़ों छात्रों ने उत्साहपूर्वक यात्रा का स्वागत किया। विद्यार्थियों ने भारत की विविधता में एकता, शिक्षा, लोकतांत्रिक चेतना तथा भारत-पाकिस्तान सहित पड़ोसी देशों के बीच मैत्रीपूर्ण संबंधों की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया।

समालखा में कांग्रेस नेता श्री संजय छोकर के नेतृत्व में बड़ी संख्या में किसानों और स्थानीय नागरिकों ने यात्रियों का स्वागत किया। इस अवसर पर ग्रामीण समाज, किसानों और युवाओं की ओर से सामाजिक सद्भाव तथा राष्ट्रीय एकता के संदेश को आगे बढ़ाने का संकल्प व्यक्त किया गया।

पानीपत में जिला बार एसोसिएशन की ओर से प्रधान श्री सुरेंद्र दूहन, सचिव श्री संदीप शांडिल्य सहित सभी पदाधिकारियों और सदस्यों ने यात्रा का स्वागत किया। इंडियन एसोसिएशन ऑफ लॉयर्स के प्रधान एवं अधिवक्ता श्री पवन कुमार सैनी ने भी यात्रियों का अभिनंदन किया। अधिवक्ताओं ने कहा कि शांति, न्याय, लोकतंत्र और संवैधानिक मूल्यों की रक्षा एक मजबूत और समतामूलक समाज की आधारशिला है।

कोहंड में बार एसोसिएशन के पूर्व उपाध्यक्ष एवं अधिवक्ता श्री प्रदीप कुमार के नेतृत्व में स्थानीय साथियों ने यात्रा का स्वागत किया। इसके बाद घरौंडा में श्री राम मेहर सिंह सहित सैकड़ों लोगों ने यात्रा में सहभागिता की और शांति तथा मैत्री के संदेश को अपना समर्थन दिया।

करनाल में पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री चौधरी बीरेंद्र सिंह तथा पूर्व विधायक श्री शमशेर सिंह गोगी के नेतृत्व में छोटू राम विचार मंच के साथियों और बड़ी संख्या में स्थानीय नागरिकों ने यात्रा का स्वागत किया। इस अवसर पर एक सार्थक वैचारिक चर्चा आयोजित हुई, जिसमें महान किसान नेता एवं समाज सुधारक रहबर-ए-आज़म चौधरी छोटू राम के विचारों की वर्तमान समय में प्रासंगिकता पर अनेक वक्ताओं ने अपने विचार रखे।

वक्ताओं ने कहा कि चौधरी छोटू राम ने किसानों, मजदूरों और ग्रामीण समाज के अधिकारों के लिए संघर्ष करते हुए सामाजिक न्याय और आर्थिक समानता की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया। आज जब समाज के सामने अनेक प्रकार की चुनौतियां हैं, तब उनके विचारों को समझना और नई पीढ़ी तक पहुंचाना अत्यंत आवश्यक है।

कुरुक्षेत्र में वैचारिक सभा

दिनभर की यात्रा के पश्चात रात्रि में कुरुक्षेत्र की जाट धर्मशाला में एक बड़ी वैचारिक सभा आयोजित की गई। देश हरियाणा की ओर से आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम का विषय महात्मा ज्योतिबा फुले और सावित्रीबाई फुले के जीवन, दर्शन और संदेश पर केंद्रित था।

सभा में बड़ी संख्या में शिक्षक, विद्यार्थी, सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता, बुद्धिजीवी और विभिन्न क्षेत्रों से जुड़े नागरिक उपस्थित रहे। वक्ताओं ने ज्योतिबा फुले और सावित्रीबाई फुले के शिक्षा, सामाजिक न्याय, महिला सशक्तिकरण, समानता और वंचित वर्गों के अधिकारों के लिए किए गए ऐतिहासिक संघर्ष को याद किया।

वक्ताओं ने कहा कि फुले दंपति का जीवन हमें यह संदेश देता है कि शिक्षा और सामाजिक जागरूकता के माध्यम से ही एक न्यायपूर्ण, समान और मानवीय समाज का निर्माण किया जा सकता है। उनके विचार आज भी उतने ही प्रासंगिक हैं जितने उनके समय में थे।

आगाज़-ए-दोस्ती अमन यात्रा का उद्देश्य केवल एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान तक पहुंचना नहीं, बल्कि रास्ते में समाज के विभिन्न वर्गों—युवाओं, विद्यार्थियों, किसानों, अधिवक्ताओं, शिक्षकों, सामाजिक कार्यकर्ताओं और बुद्धिजीवियों—को शांति, एकता और मैत्री के साझा मंच पर जोड़ना है।

यात्रा ने दिल्ली से कुरुक्षेत्र तक यह स्पष्ट संदेश दिया कि भारत की शक्ति उसकी विविधता, लोकतांत्रिक चेतना, सामाजिक समरसता और आपसी भाईचारे में निहित है। गांधी, फुले, सावित्रीबाई फुले और चौधरी छोटू राम जैसे महान व्यक्तित्वों के विचार आज भी समाज को न्याय, समानता, शांति और मानवता की दिशा में आगे बढ़ने की प्रेरणा देते हैं।

Report of Day Two | दूसरे दिन की रिपोर्ट

The second day of the Aaghaz-e-Dosti Peace Yatra 2026 began from the Manavtavadi Sansthan, Kurukshetra. The Yatra bus was flagged off from outside the Ashram by Sadhvi Ji, Sangharsh Ji, Shri Atar Singh Saini and Shweta Ji, marking the beginning of another day dedicated to peace, national unity, communal harmony and people-to-people friendship.

The Yatra is being organised with the collective efforts of the Association of Peoples of Asia (APA), Hali Panipati Trust, Nirmala Deshpande Sansthan, Khwaja Ahmad Abbas Memorial Trust, and United Religions Initiative (URI).

Warm Welcome at Ambala

The first halt of the day was Ambala, where the Yatra participants received a warm and affectionate welcome under the leadership of noted social activist Advocate Pawan Arya. Members of Khudai Khidmatgar and several members of the local Gurdwara Committee joined the welcome, reflecting the spirit of communal harmony and fraternity that lies at the heart of the Yatra.

Visit to Khatkar Kalan – The Village of Shaheed Bhagat Singh

From Ambala, the Yatra proceeded to Khatkar Kalan, the ancestral village of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh in Punjab.

Members of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Research Academy and Bibi Amar Kaur Memorial Trust warmly welcomed the Yatra delegation. Among those present were renowned scholar and nephew of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Prof. Jagmohan Singh, and Advocate Nitin Mittu, Coordinator of the Aaghaz-e-Dosti organisation, along with several other distinguished members and activists.

On the occasion, Prof. Jagmohan Singh delivered a thoughtful and illuminating address on “Sardar Bhagat Singh and His Ideas.” He highlighted the relevance of Bhagat Singh’s progressive vision, his commitment to justice, equality and freedom, and the continuing importance of his ideas for the younger generation.

The Yatra participants also visited the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Museum near Khatkar Kalan and paid their respects to the revolutionary legacy of Bhagat Singh.

Blessings and Encouragement at Punjab Kesari

The next destination was the headquarters of Punjab Kesari, one of North India’s leading Hindi newspapers, where the Yatra delegation had the privilege of meeting its Chief Editor, Shri Vijay Kumar Chopra, and receiving his blessings and good wishes.

At the age of 95, Shri Vijay Kumar Chopra continues to remain closely associated with the values of the freedom movement, Khadi, constructive work and national service. He shared a deeply moving personal anecdote: when he was only six months old, his mother was serving a one-year prison sentence for her participation in the freedom movement and constructive work related to Khadi. During that period, his early childhood was cared for by his parents’ close friends. He said that these experiences deeply shaped his life and strengthened within him a lasting commitment to national unity, service and dedication.

Shri Chopra expressed his wholehearted support and best wishes for the Aaghaz-e-Dosti Peace Yatra and appreciated its message of peace, friendship and unity inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.

The delegation also met Shri Avijay Chopra, who took keen interest in the objectives and activities of the Yatra and expressed his willingness to associate himself with its initiatives in the future.

Arrival in Amritsar

By this time, it was already late in the evening. The Yatra departed from Jalandhar at around 10:00 p.m. and, after a long and meaningful day of meetings, visits and interactions, reached Amritsar around midnight.

The Yatra participants stayed at Guru Tegh Bahadur Niwas Sarai, Amritsar, bringing the second day of the Aaghaz-e-Dosti Peace Yatra to a close.

The day was marked by inspiring encounters with social workers, Gandhians, religious and community representatives, scholars, young activists, journalists and admirers of Bhagat Singh. These interactions reinforced the central message of the Yatra: peace, national unity, communal harmony and people-to-people friendship through dialogue, understanding and the shared values of Mahatma Gandhi, Shaheed Bhagat Singh and other great servants of the nation.

आगाज़-ए-दोस्ती अमन यात्रा 2026 के दूसरे दिन की शुरुआत मानवतावादी संस्थान, कुरुक्षेत्र से हुई। आश्रम के बाहर से ही साध्वी जी, संघर्ष जी, श्री अतर सिंह सैनी और श्वेता जी ने यात्रा की बस को झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया। इस अवसर पर यात्रा दल ने विश्व शांति, राष्ट्रीय एकता, सांप्रदायिक सद्भाव और जन-जन के बीच मैत्री के अपने संकल्प को आगे बढ़ाया।

अंबाला में आत्मीय स्वागत

यह स्वागत यात्रा के मूल संदेश—शांति, भाईचारा, सद्भाव और एकता—का सुंदर उदाहरण रहा।

शहीद भगत सिंह की धरती खटकड़ कलां

अंबाला के बाद यात्रा खटकड़ कलां, शहीद-ए-आजम सरदार भगत सिंह के पैतृक गांव, पहुंची। यहां शहीद भगत सिंह रिसर्च एकेडमी तथा बीबी अमर कौर मेमोरियल ट्रस्ट के सदस्यों ने यात्रा दल का गर्मजोशी से स्वागत किया।

इस अवसर पर प्रसिद्ध विद्वान तथा शहीद भगत सिंह के भांजे प्रो. जगमोहन सिंह, आगाज़-ए-दोस्ती संगठन के संयोजक अधिवक्ता नितिन मित्तू सहित अनेक सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता एवं गणमान्य व्यक्ति उपस्थित रहे।

प्रो. जगमोहन सिंह ने “सरदार भगत सिंह और उनके विचार” विषय पर अत्यंत सारगर्भित एवं प्रेरणादायी वक्तव्य दिया। उन्होंने भगत सिंह के विचारों, उनके प्रगतिशील दृष्टिकोण, समानता, न्याय और स्वतंत्रता के प्रति उनकी प्रतिबद्धता तथा आज के युवाओं के लिए उनके विचारों की प्रासंगिकता पर प्रकाश डाला।

यात्रा दल ने खटकड़ कलां के निकट स्थित शहीद भगत सिंह संग्रहालय का भी भ्रमण किया और महान क्रांतिकारी की स्मृतियों एवं विरासत को नमन किया।

पंजाब केसरी मुख्यालय में विजय कुमार चोपड़ा का आशीर्वाद

इसके पश्चात यात्रा दल उत्तर भारत के लोकप्रिय दैनिक पंजाब केसरी के मुख्यालय पहुंचा और उसके प्रधान संपादक श्री विजय कुमार चोपड़ा से मुलाकात कर उनका आशीर्वाद प्राप्त किया।

95 वर्षीय श्री विजय कुमार चोपड़ा स्वयं स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन की विरासत, खादी और रचनात्मक सेवा से जुड़े रहे हैं। उन्होंने एक अत्यंत मार्मिक प्रसंग साझा करते हुए बताया कि जब वे मात्र छह महीने के थे, तब उनकी माता स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन तथा खादी से जुड़े रचनात्मक कार्यों में भाग लेने के कारण एक वर्ष के लिए जेल गई थीं। उनके माता-पिता के मित्रों ने उनके शैशवकाल में उनकी देखभाल की। उन्होंने कहा कि इन अनुभवों ने उनके जीवन में राष्ट्रीय एकता, सेवा और समर्पण की भावना को गहराई से स्थापित किया।

श्री चोपड़ा ने आगाज़-ए-दोस्ती अमन यात्रा के प्रति अपनी हार्दिक शुभकामनाएं व्यक्त कीं और महात्मा गांधी के शांति, सद्भाव और मैत्री के विचारों को आगे बढ़ाने वाली इस पहल की सराहना की।

इसके पश्चात यात्रा दल ने श्री अविजय चोपड़ा से भी मुलाकात की। उन्होंने यात्रा के उद्देश्यों और गतिविधियों में गहरी रुचि दिखाई तथा भविष्य में इसके कार्यों से जुड़ने की इच्छा व्यक्त की।

Day Three — A Day Dedicated to the Centenary of Khwaja Ahmad Abbas

14 August 2026 | Amritsar

The third day of the Aaghaz-e-Dosti Peace Yatra–2026 was dedicated to the centenary of Khwaja Ahmad Abbas, the eminent progressive writer, journalist, filmmaker and one of the leading founders of the Indian People’s Theatre Association (IPTA).

The Aaghaz-e-Dosti Peace Yatra, being organised with the message of World Peace, National Unity, Communal Harmony and India–Pakistan People-to-People Friendship, reached Amritsar on its third day. The entire day reflected the spirit of Khwaja Ahmad Abbas—of peace, humanism, cultural fraternity and friendship beyond political boundaries.

A Meaningful Dialogue at Virsa Bhawan

At around 10:00 a.m., the Yatra delegation reached Virsa Bhawan, Amritsar, where a large gathering of writers, intellectuals, artists, social workers, students and citizens welcomed the Yatris.

The central theme of the programme was:

“India–Pakistan Relations: Problems and the Responsibility of the People.”

The discussion focused on the complex history of India–Pakistan relations, the legacy of Partition, the continuing challenges between the two countries and, most importantly, the responsibility of ordinary citizens in creating an atmosphere of peace and friendship.

Ramesh Yadav, Satnam Manak, Dr. Sucha Singh and Ram Mohan Rai, among several other speakers, addressed the gathering.

The speakers emphasised that India–Pakistan relations cannot be viewed merely as relations between two governments. Millions of people on both sides share a common cultural heritage, languages, literature, music, traditions and memories. Therefore, lasting peace requires not only diplomatic efforts but also stronger people-to-people relations.

It was also stressed that the painful memories of Partition must never be forgotten, but neither should that pain be allowed to become a source of hatred for future generations. Instead, it should inspire both countries to work towards dialogue, reconciliation, friendship and peaceful coexistence.

IPTA Artists Pay Musical Tribute to Khwaja Ahmad Abbas

The programme began with a moving cultural tribute by the IPTA colleagues accompanying the Yatra. They performed some of Khwaja Ahmad Abbas’s favourite songs with the dugdugi/dhapli, creating an atmosphere of warmth, remembrance and fraternity.

The musical tribute reflected Abbas’s lifelong belief that literature, theatre, cinema, music and art can transcend political boundaries and bring people together.

As one of the leading figures associated with IPTA and progressive cultural movements, Khwaja Ahmad Abbas used his creative work to speak for human dignity, social justice, communal harmony and peace.

Ram Mohan Rai Recalls Khwaja Ahmad Abbas’s Powerful Message

Speaking at the programme, Ram Mohan Rai recalled a memorable passage from Khwaja Ahmad Abbas’s autobiography “I Am Not an Island”, relating to his visit to Pakistan.

The passage beautifully captures Abbas’s humanistic vision. For him, the relationship between the peoples of India and Pakistan was much larger than the political borders separating the two countries. Families, emotions, culture and human relationships could not simply be divided by a line drawn on a map.

His message carries special relevance today. At a time when political differences often overshadow the shared heritage of the two peoples, Abbas reminds us that human relationships can become a bridge across borders.

Visit to the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh

Following the programme at Virsa Bhawan, the Yatra delegation visited the Golden Temple, where the participants paid their respects and reflected upon the universal message of peace, equality, service and humanity.

The Yatris then proceeded to Jallianwala Bagh, one of the most significant memorials of India’s freedom struggle.

There, the delegation paid homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for India’s freedom. The participants also remembered the countless known and unknown freedom fighters whose sacrifices ultimately paved the way for independence.

The visit served as a reminder that the freedom enjoyed by the people of the subcontinent was achieved through immense sacrifice and suffering.

Midnight Candle Vigil at Wagah Border

The most poignant moment of the third day came late at night.

At around 11:00 p.m. to midnight, the Yatra delegation reached the Wagah Border, where hundreds of people had gathered.

Together with the gathering, the Yatris lit candles as a symbol of peace, friendship and hope between India and Pakistan.

The candlelight vigil was dedicated not only to the freedom fighters and martyrs of both countries but also to the millions of ordinary people who suffered the terrible consequences of the Partition of 1947—those who lost their homes, families, loved ones and ancestral lands in one of the greatest human tragedies of the subcontinent.

Standing at the border, the participants expressed their heartfelt wish that the two neighbouring countries should move from hostility towards peace, dialogue, cooperation and friendship.

The scene was deeply moving: on one side stood the physical border separating the two countries, while on the other, the people gathered there shared the same desire for peace and human fraternity.

“Not War — We Need Buddha; Not Conflict — We Need Peace”

The third day of the Aaghaz-e-Dosti Peace Yatra concluded with a reaffirmation of its central message:

“Yudh Nahin – Buddh Chahiye.”

“Jang Nahin – Aman Chahiye.”

“Goli Nahin – Boli Chahiye.”

Not war — we need Buddha.

Not conflict — we need peace.

Not bullets — we need dialogue.

The day began by remembering the humanistic legacy of Khwaja Ahmad Abbas and his vision of relationships that rise above political boundaries. It ended with hundreds of people lighting candles at the India–Pakistan border for peace and friendship.

In this way, 14 August 2026 became a day of remembrance, reflection and hope—connecting the legacy of Khwaja Ahmad Abbas, the sacrifices of the freedom struggle, the tragedy of Partition and the shared aspiration of ordinary people on both sides of the border for peace.

The message of the day was clear:

Borders may divide territories, but literature, music, culture and humanity have the power to unite hearts.

The Aaghaz-e-Dosti Peace Yatra continues with the conviction that India and Pakistan need not be defined only by their differences. Their peoples can build a future based on peace, dialogue, mutual respect, cultural exchange and people-to-people friendship.

ख्वाजा अहमद अब्बास की शताब्दी को समर्पित रहा 14 अगस्त का दिन

विश्व शांति, राष्ट्रीय एकता, सांप्रदायिक सद्भाव और भारत-पाकिस्तान के लोगों के बीच जन-मैत्री के संदेश को लेकर चल रही Aaghaz-e-Dosti Peace Yatra–2026 का तीसरा दिन प्रसिद्ध प्रगतिशील लेखक, पत्रकार, फिल्म लेखक एवं निर्देशक तथा IPTA के प्रमुख संस्थापकों में अग्रणी ख्वाजा अहमद अब्बास की शताब्दी को समर्पित रहा।

यात्रा के तीसरे दिन का मुख्य कार्यक्रम प्रातः लगभग 10 बजे विरसा भवन, अमृतसर में आयोजित हुआ, जिसमें सैकड़ों की संख्या में साहित्यकारों, बुद्धिजीवियों, सामाजिक कार्यकर्ताओं, कलाकारों, युवाओं और स्थानीय नागरिकों ने भाग लिया। कार्यक्रम का विषय था—“भारत और पाकिस्तान के संबंध : समस्या और जनता का दायित्व।”

विरसा भवन में भारत-पाकिस्तान संबंधों पर गंभीर संवाद

कार्यक्रम में रमेश यादव, सतनाम मानक, डॉ. सुचा सिंह और राम मोहन राय सहित अनेक वक्ताओं ने भारत-पाकिस्तान संबंधों, विभाजन की त्रासदी, दोनों देशों के बीच पैदा हुए अविश्वास तथा शांति और दोस्ती स्थापित करने में जनता की भूमिका पर विचार रखे।

वक्ताओं ने कहा कि भारत और पाकिस्तान के संबंध केवल दो सरकारों अथवा दो राजनीतिक व्यवस्थाओं के संबंध नहीं हैं। दोनों देशों के करोड़ों लोगों के बीच भाषा, साहित्य, संगीत, संस्कृति, खान-पान और साझा इतिहास के गहरे रिश्ते हैं। इसलिए स्थायी शांति के लिए सरकारी स्तर पर संवाद के साथ-साथ जनता से जनता के संबंधों को मजबूत करना आवश्यक है।

यह भी कहा गया कि विभाजन की पीड़ा को भुलाया नहीं जा सकता, लेकिन उस पीड़ा को आने वाली पीढ़ियों में नफरत का आधार बनाने के बजाय शांति, संवाद, सह-अस्तित्व और मानवीय रिश्तों का आधार बनाया जाना चाहिए।

IPTA के साथियों ने गीतों के माध्यम से दी ख्वाजा अहमद अब्बास को श्रद्धांजलि

कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ यात्रा दल में शामिल IPTA के साथियों द्वारा ख्वाजा अहमद अब्बास के प्रिय गीतों की प्रस्तुति से हुआ। साथियों ने ढपली के साथ गीत प्रस्तुत किए और अपने प्रिय लेखक, फिल्मकार तथा सांस्कृतिक योद्धा को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की।

यह प्रस्तुति अपने आप में एक संदेश थी कि कला, साहित्य, संगीत और सिनेमा मनुष्यों को जोड़ने की ताकत रखते हैं और राजनीतिक सीमाएँ इस मानवीय रिश्ते को समाप्त नहीं कर सकतीं।

ख्वाजा अहमद अब्बास का पूरा रचनात्मक जीवन सामाजिक न्याय, मानवीय संवेदना, सांप्रदायिक सद्भाव और भारत-पाकिस्तान के लोगों के बीच मैत्री की भावना से जुड़ा रहा।

राम मोहन राय ने सुनाया ख्वाजा साहब का यादगार वक्तव्य

इस अवसर पर राम मोहन राय ने ख्वाजा अहमद अब्बास के पाकिस्तान जाने के प्रसंग से जुड़ा उनका वह अत्यंत भावपूर्ण और आज के संदर्भ में भी प्रासंगिक वक्तव्य सुनाया, जो यात्रा के पोस्टर में भी प्रकाशित किया गया है।

ख्वाजा अहमद अब्बास ने कहा था:

“अक्सर लोग मुझसे मेरे पाकिस्तान आने का सबब मालूम कर रहे थे। मैं उनको बता रहा था कि मैं अपने हिंदुस्तानी भतीजे के लिए अपनी पाकिस्तानी भांजी को दुल्हन बनाकर ले जाने के लिए आया था। खुश्क-सा जवाब था। आज का ज़माना होता तो यह कहता:”

यह कथन ख्वाजा साहब की उस मानवीय दृष्टि को व्यक्त करता है जिसमें भारत और पाकिस्तान की राजनीतिक सीमाओं के बावजूद लोगों के दिलों और पारिवारिक रिश्तों को एक-दूसरे से अलग नहीं माना गया। उनकी कल्पना में दोनों देशों के बीच संबंध केवल राजनीति और सीमाओं से निर्धारित नहीं होते, बल्कि इंसानी रिश्तों, प्रेम, संस्कृति और साझा विरासत से भी निर्मित होते हैं।

14 अगस्त की पूर्व संध्या पर, जब दोनों देश अपनी-अपनी स्वतंत्रता का उत्सव मनाने की तैयारी कर रहे थे, ख्वाजा अहमद अब्बास के इस संदेश को याद करना यात्रा के उद्देश्य को विशेष अर्थ प्रदान करता है।

स्वर्ण मंदिर और जलियांवाला बाग की यात्रा

विरसा भवन के कार्यक्रम के पश्चात अमन यात्रा का दल अमृतसर के ऐतिहासिक और आध्यात्मिक स्थलों की ओर रवाना हुआ।

यात्रियों ने श्री हरमंदिर साहिब (स्वर्ण मंदिर) में मत्था टेका और शांति, मानवता तथा भाईचारे का संदेश ग्रहण किया।

इसके बाद यात्रा दल जलियांवाला बाग पहुँचा। वहाँ देश की स्वतंत्रता के संघर्ष में अपने प्राणों का बलिदान देने वाले ज्ञात-अज्ञात शहीदों को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की गई।

जलियांवाला बाग में यात्रियों ने उन सभी वीरों को नमन किया जिन्होंने आजादी के लिए अपना जीवन न्योछावर किया और यह संकल्प व्यक्त किया कि स्वतंत्रता केवल राजनीतिक आजादी का नाम नहीं, बल्कि शांति, न्याय, समानता, मानवीय गरिमा और भाईचारे की स्थापना का भी नाम है।

आधी रात को वाघा बॉर्डर पर जली अमन की लौ

दिनभर के कार्यक्रमों के बाद यात्रा का सबसे भावपूर्ण और प्रतीकात्मक कार्यक्रम देर रात वाघा बॉर्डर पर हुआ।

लगभग रात्रि 11 से 12 बजे के बीच यात्रा दल वाघा बॉर्डर पहुँचा। वहाँ उपस्थित सैकड़ों लोगों के साथ मिलकर यात्रियों ने मोमबत्तियाँ जलाईं और भारत तथा पाकिस्तान के बीच अमन, दोस्ती और सद्भाव की कामना की।

मोमबत्तियों की रोशनी में दोनों देशों के उन सभी शहीदों और स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की गई जिन्होंने आजादी के संघर्ष में अपने प्राण न्योछावर किए। साथ ही विभाजन की त्रासदी में अपना घर, परिवार, जमीन और प्रियजन खोने वाले लाखों लोगों को भी भावपूर्ण श्रद्धांजलि दी गई।

यह क्षण अत्यंत भावुक था—एक ओर दोनों देशों के बीच खिंची सीमा थी, लेकिन दूसरी ओर सीमा के दोनों तरफ मौजूद लोगों के दिलों में शांति, दोस्ती और मानवीय रिश्तों की साझा आकांक्षा थी।

Aaghaz-e-Dosti Peace Yatra के तीसरे दिन का संदेश स्पष्ट था कि भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच स्थायी शांति युद्ध और हथियारों से नहीं, बल्कि संवाद, संस्कृति, साहित्य, कला, जनता से जनता के संपर्क और मानवीय रिश्तों से स्थापित हो सकती है।

यात्रा का संकल्प है—

14 अगस्त का दिन इसलिए भी ऐतिहासिक और भावपूर्ण रहा कि सुबह विरसा भवन में ख्वाजा अहमद अब्बास की शताब्दी और उनकी भारत-पाकिस्तान मैत्री की मानवीय दृष्टि को याद किया गया और रात को वाघा बॉर्डर पर मोमबत्तियाँ जलाकर उसी भावना को जन-संकल्प में बदल दिया गया।

ख्वाजा अहमद अब्बास का संदेश—“दिलवाले दुल्हनिया ले जाएंगे”—आज भी इस उम्मीद का प्रतीक बन सकता है कि राजनीतिक दूरियों के बावजूद दोनों देशों के लोगों के दिलों के बीच की दूरी समाप्त हो और दक्षिण एशिया में शांति, मित्रता और सहयोग का नया अध्याय शुरू हो।

14 अगस्त 2026 का यह दिन इसी विश्वास के साथ समाप्त हुआ कि सीमाएँ देशों को बाँट सकती हैं, लेकिन साहित्य, संगीत, संस्कृति और इंसानियत लोगों के दिलों को जोड़ने की शक्ति रखती है।

Aaghaz-e-Dosti Peace Yatra 2026: A Journey of Peace, National Unity and People-to-People Friendship Concludes at Hussainiwala

The final day of the Aaghaz-e-Dosti Peace Yatra 2026 marked a deeply emotional and inspiring culmination of a journey dedicated to world peace, national unity, communal harmony and people-to-people friendship. Organised from 12 to 16 August 2026 under the joint aegis of the Association of Peoples of Asia, Hali Panipati Trust, Nirmala Deshpande Sansthan, Khwaja Ahmad Abbas Memorial Trust and United Religions Initiative (URI), the Yatra carried a message of peace, fraternity, democratic values and friendship among the people of India and its neighbouring countries.

The journey was organised in connection with the 80th anniversary of India’s Independence, with the conviction that the true spirit of freedom lies not only in political independence but also in equality, harmony, justice, mutual respect and peace among people.

Flag Hoisting and Independence Day Reflections

The concluding day began in the morning at the open ground in front of Guru Tegh Bahadur Niwas Sarai, where the National Flag was ceremonially hoisted and saluted. The atmosphere was filled with patriotic spirit and reverence for the nation.

Dharmanand Lakhera and Adya Tyagi addressed the gathering and shared their reflections on Independence Day and the historic and cultural significance of Amritsar. They emphasised that the freedom of India carries with it a continuing responsibility to preserve unity, harmony and democratic values.

Patricia Haveman Joins from the Netherlands

A special international dimension was added to the concluding day when Patricia Haveman from the Netherlands joined the yatris through a video call. She interacted warmly with the participants, heard about their experiences during the Yatra and conveyed her heartfelt wishes to the entire delegation.

Her participation from the Netherlands beautifully reflected the spirit of people-to-people friendship transcending geographical boundaries. Her interaction and good wishes strengthened the message that the quest for peace, friendship and human solidarity is universal and can bring people together irrespective of distance or nationality.

Participation in the Socialist Party (India) Gathering

The second stop was a public gathering organised by Sandeep Pandey, President of the Socialist Party (India). Hundreds of representatives from different parts of the country warmly welcomed the Aaghaz-e-Dosti delegation.

The gathering provided an opportunity to exchange views on peace, democracy, social justice, national integration and the importance of strengthening people-to-people relations across borders. The Yatra participants reiterated that India's greatest strength lies in its diversity and in the bonds of friendship and trust among ordinary citizens.

Visit to Durgiana Temple, Amritsar

The delegation then proceeded to the famous Durgiana Temple in Amritsar, where all the yatris offered prayers together and prayed for peace, prosperity and harmony.

The delegation also met Smt. Lakshmi Kanta Chawla, President of the Temple Committee and former Minister in the Punjab Government. The visit symbolised the Yatra's commitment to respecting India's diverse spiritual and cultural traditions and promoting harmony among communities.

Warm Welcome by Farmers at Tarn Taran

From Amritsar, the Yatra proceeded towards Tarn Taran, where hundreds of farmers warmly welcomed the travelling group on the roadside. A community langar was also organised by them for the yatris.

The spontaneous welcome was a moving example of people's participation in the Yatra and reflected the spirit of hospitality, solidarity and friendship that the journey sought to promote.

Hussainiwala Border: Paying Homage to the Martyrs

The delegation then reached the Hussainiwala Border in Firozpur, on the India-Pakistan frontier, and witnessed the Beating Retreat Ceremony. The atmosphere at the border, marked by the presence of the National Flag, military discipline and patriotic fervour, was deeply moving for all the participants.

After the ceremony, the yatris proceeded to the sacred memorial complex of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shivram Hari Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar, and paid their respects to these immortal heroes of India's freedom struggle. The delegation also paid homage at the memorial of Mata Vidyavati, the revered mother of Bhagat Singh.

The Historical Significance of Hussainiwala

Hussainiwala is one of the most sacred and emotionally significant sites associated with India's freedom struggle. Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were executed in Lahore Jail on 23 March 1931. Their bodies were secretly taken towards the Hussainiwala area on the banks of the Sutlej for cremation. When local people came to know of the incident, they gathered in large numbers and ensured that the martyrs received the honour and dignity they deserved.

Today, Hussainiwala stands not merely as a memorial to three revolutionary heroes, but as a living symbol of India's freedom, sacrifice, courage and the indomitable spirit of its youth. For every visitor, the site evokes the extraordinary sacrifices made by generations of freedom fighters who devoted their lives to the cause of India's independence.

The Aaghaz-e-Dosti delegation offered floral tributes at the samadhis of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, at the memorial of Mata Vidyavati, at the Shaheed Jyoti, and at the statues of the three revolutionaries. The entire memorial complex reverberated with spirited patriotic slogans.

The yatris then lit candles in memory of the martyrs and all known and unknown freedom fighters of India. A particularly touching aspect of this tribute was that the small candles had been lovingly prepared and decorated by young children through the efforts of Smt. Divya Tyagi. The children's contribution created a beautiful bridge between the sacrifices of the past and the hopes of the future.

Late-Night Welcome at Moga

After leaving Hussainiwala, the delegation reached Dr. Shyam Lal Thapar Institute of Nursing, Moga, late at night. It was around 11:00 p.m., yet the enthusiasm of the yatris remained undiminished.

The delegation received a warm welcome at Bapu Kuti under the leadership of Dr. Pawan Thapar and Dr. Anuj Thapar. The gathering highlighted the values of service, humanity, peace and Gandhian thought.

Despite the long journey, numerous programmes and emotionally intense moments throughout the day, the spirit of the participants remained high. After dinner, the yatris departed for Delhi.

Following nearly seven hours of bus travel, all the participants finally reached Delhi.

A Journey That Continues Beyond the Journey

The conclusion of the Aaghaz-e-Dosti Peace Yatra was not merely the end of a physical journey; it was a reaffirmation of an enduring idea and commitment.

From Rajghat, the sacred memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, to Hussainiwala, the land associated with the supreme sacrifice of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, the Yatra connected two powerful streams of India's freedom legacy—Gandhi's message of non-violence, peace and reconciliation, and the courage, sacrifice and patriotism of the revolutionary freedom fighters.

The participation of Patricia Haveman from the Netherlands through video interaction added an important international dimension to this message, demonstrating that friendship, peace and solidarity can transcend borders and connect people across continents.

The Yatra reaffirmed that world peace, national unity and people-to-people friendship are not merely slogans, but responsibilities that must be translated into action and sustained through dialogue, understanding and human solidarity.

The candles lit at Hussainiwala in memory of the martyrs carried a special message for the younger generation: the sacrifices of India's freedom fighters must never be forgotten, and their legacy must continue to inspire efforts for peace, harmony and friendship across India and throughout South Asia.

Aaghaz-e-Dosti Peace Yatra 2026 thus concluded with a renewed pledge:

“Peace is not simply our destination; it is a continuous journey.

आग़ाज़-ए-दोस्ती पीस यात्रा के अंतिम अर्थात समापन दिवस पर विश्व शांति, राष्ट्रीय एकता, सांप्रदायिक सद्भाव और जन-मैत्री का संदेश लेकर चल रही यात्रा ने एक अत्यंत भावपूर्ण और प्रेरणादायी पड़ाव पूरा किया। 12 से 16 अगस्त 2026 तक आयोजित इस यात्रा का संयुक्त आयोजन Association of Peoples of Asia, Hali Panipati Trust, Nirmala Deshpande Sansthan, Khwaja Ahmad Abbas Memorial Trust तथा United Religions Initiative (URI) के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में किया गया। यात्रा का उद्देश्य भारत की स्वतंत्रता की 80वीं वर्षगांठ के अवसर पर शांति, भाईचारे, लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों और भारत-पाकिस्तान के बीच जन-स्तर पर मैत्री का संदेश जन-जन तक पहुंचाना था।

गुरु तेग बहादुर निवास से राष्ट्रीय ध्वज को सलामी

समापन दिवस की शुरुआत प्रातःकाल गुरु तेग बहादुर निवास सराय के सामने खुले मैदान में राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराकर और तिरंगे को सलामी देकर हुई। राष्ट्रगान और देशभक्ति के भावों से वातावरण गूंज उठा। इस अवसर पर धर्मानंद लखेड़ा और आद्या त्यागी ने स्वतंत्रता दिवस तथा अमृतसर के ऐतिहासिक, सांस्कृतिक और राष्ट्रीय महत्व पर अपने विचार व्यक्त किए। उन्होंने कहा कि स्वतंत्रता केवल राजनीतिक आजादी का नाम नहीं, बल्कि देशवासियों के बीच समानता, सद्भाव, न्याय और भाईचारे की भावना को मजबूत करना भी है।

नीदरलैंड से जुड़ीं Patricia Haveman

समापन दिवस के दौरान नीदरलैंड से Patricia Haveman भी वीडियो कॉल के माध्यम से आग़ाज़-ए-दोस्ती के यात्री दल से जुड़ीं। उन्होंने यात्रियों से संवाद किया, उनके अनुभव सुने और यात्रा के उद्देश्य एवं शांति, मैत्री तथा जन-से-जन संबंधों के संदेश की सराहना की। उन्होंने सभी यात्रियों को अपनी शुभकामनाएं प्रेषित करते हुए कहा कि भौगोलिक दूरी के बावजूद शांति और मित्रता का संदेश लोगों को जोड़ता है। उनका वीडियो संवाद यात्रा के अंतरराष्ट्रीय जन-मैत्री संदेश का सुंदर उदाहरण बना।

समाजवादी पार्टी इंडिया की सभा में सहभागिता

यात्रा का दूसरा पड़ाव Socialist Party (India) के अध्यक्ष संदीप पांडे द्वारा आयोजित सभा रहा। यहां देश के विभिन्न राज्यों से आए सैकड़ों प्रतिनिधियों ने आग़ाज़-ए-दोस्ती यात्री दल का गर्मजोशी से स्वागत किया। सभा में शांति, लोकतंत्र, सामाजिक न्याय, राष्ट्रीय एकता और भारत के पड़ोसी देशों के साथ मैत्रीपूर्ण संबंधों की आवश्यकता पर विचार-विमर्श हुआ।

यात्रियों ने अपने अनुभव साझा करते हुए कहा कि देश की वास्तविक शक्ति उसकी विविधता में एकता और आम नागरिकों के बीच आपसी विश्वास में निहित है। यात्रा इसी विश्वास को मजबूत करने का एक विनम्र प्रयास है।

दुर्गियाना मंदिर : आध्यात्मिक एकता का संदेश

इसके पश्चात यात्री दल अमृतसर के प्रसिद्ध दुर्गियाना मंदिर पहुंचा। सभी यात्रियों ने एक साथ मंदिर में दर्शन किए और देश की शांति एवं समृद्धि की कामना की। इस अवसर पर मंदिर समिति की अध्यक्ष तथा पंजाब सरकार की पूर्व मंत्री श्रीमती लक्ष्मी कांता चावला से भी मुलाकात हुई।

दुर्गियाना मंदिर का अमृतसर के धार्मिक और सांस्कृतिक जीवन में विशेष स्थान है। यहां की यात्रा ने आग़ाज़-ए-दोस्ती के उस संदेश को और मजबूत किया कि भारत की आध्यात्मिक शक्ति उसकी विविध धार्मिक परंपराओं के सम्मान और सह-अस्तित्व में है।

तरनतारन में किसानों का आत्मीय स्वागत और लंगर

अमृतसर से आगे बढ़ते हुए यात्री दल तरनतारन पहुंचा। सड़क पर ही बड़ी संख्या में किसानों ने पूरे उत्साह और आत्मीयता के साथ यात्रियों का स्वागत किया। किसानों की ओर से यात्रियों के लिए लंगर की व्यवस्था की गई थी।

यह स्वागत यात्रा की उस मूल भावना का जीवंत उदाहरण था जिसमें आम नागरिक, किसान, युवा और विभिन्न सामाजिक समूह बिना किसी भेदभाव के शांति और मैत्री के संदेश से जुड़ रहे थे।

हुसैनीवाला सीमा : शहीदों की धरती पर श्रद्धांजलि

तरनतारन के बाद यात्री दल भारत-पाकिस्तान की हुसैनीवाला सीमा, फिरोजपुर पहुंचा और वहां आयोजित Beating Retreat Ceremony में शामिल हुआ। सीमा पर तिरंगे की गरिमा, सैनिकों का अनुशासन और देशभक्ति का वातावरण सभी यात्रियों के लिए अत्यंत भावुक अनुभव रहा।

इसके पश्चात यात्री दल ने उस पवित्र शहीद स्थल पर पहुंचकर भारत की स्वतंत्रता के महान सेनानियों को श्रद्धासुमन अर्पित किए, जहां शहीद-ए-आज़म भगत सिंह, शिवराम हरि राजगुरु और सुखदेव थापर की समाधियां स्थित हैं। उनके साथ माता विद्यावती, भगत सिंह की पूजनीय माता, की समाधि भी स्थित है।

हुसैनीवाला शहीद स्मारक का ऐतिहासिक महत्व

हुसैनीवाला भारत के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के इतिहास का अत्यंत पवित्र और भावनात्मक स्थल है। 23 मार्च 1931 को भगत सिंह, राजगुरु और सुखदेव को लाहौर जेल में फांसी दी गई। उनके पार्थिव शरीरों को गुप्त रूप से हुसैनीवाला के निकट सतलुज नदी के किनारे लाकर अंतिम संस्कार करने का प्रयास किया गया। स्थानीय लोगों को इसकी जानकारी मिलने पर वे बड़ी संख्या में वहां पहुंचे और शहीदों के अधूरे संस्कार को सम्मानपूर्वक पूरा किया।

आज हुसैनीवाला केवल तीन महान क्रांतिकारियों की समाधि का स्थल नहीं, बल्कि भारत की स्वतंत्रता, त्याग, साहस और युवाशक्ति की अमर स्मृति है। यहां आने वाला प्रत्येक व्यक्ति उस पीढ़ी के बलिदान को नमन करता है जिसने देश की आजादी के लिए अपना जीवन अर्पित कर दिया।

यात्री दल ने भगत सिंह, राजगुरु और सुखदेव की समाधियों, माता विद्यावती की समाधि, शहीद ज्योति तथा तीनों क्रांतिकारियों की प्रतिमाओं पर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित की। वातावरण जोशीले देशभक्ति नारों से गूंज उठा।

इसके बाद भारत की स्वतंत्रता के सभी ज्ञात-अज्ञात शहीदों और स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों की स्मृति में मोमबत्तियां जलाई गईं। इन मोमबत्तियों को विशेष रूप से श्रीमती दिव्या त्यागी के प्रयासों से छोटे-छोटे बच्चों द्वारा तैयार और सजाया गया था। बच्चों के हाथों से तैयार इन दीपों/मोमबत्तियों ने शहीदों की स्मृति को नई पीढ़ी से जोड़ने का अत्यंत सुंदर संदेश दिया।

मोगा में देर रात भी कायम रहा उत्साह

हुसैनीवाला से आगे बढ़ते हुए यात्री दल देर रात Dr. Shyam Lal Thapar Institute of Nursing, Moga पहुंचा। रात लगभग 11 बजे भी यात्रियों का उत्साह और ऊर्जा कम नहीं हुई थी। संस्थान में डॉ. पवन थापर और डॉ. अनुज थापर के नेतृत्व में बापू कुटीर में यात्री दल का आत्मीय स्वागत किया गया।

इस अवसर पर यात्रियों का अभिनंदन करते हुए शांति, सेवा, मानवता और गांधीवादी मूल्यों के प्रति प्रतिबद्धता को रेखांकित किया गया। दिनभर की लंबी यात्रा, अनेक कार्यक्रमों और भावनात्मक क्षणों के बावजूद सभी यात्रियों के चेहरों पर उत्साह और संतोष दिखाई दे रहा था।

रात्रिभोज के पश्चात यात्री दल ने दिल्ली के लिए प्रस्थान किया। लगभग सात घंटे के बस सफर के बाद सभी यात्री दिल्ली पहुंचे।

एक यात्रा, अनेक संदेश

आग़ाज़-ए-दोस्ती अमन यात्रा का यह समापन केवल एक यात्रा का अंत नहीं, बल्कि एक विचार और संकल्प की निरंतरता है। राजघाट से लेकर हुसैनीवाला तक की इस यात्रा ने महात्मा गांधी की अहिंसा और शांति की भावना को भगत सिंह, राजगुरु और सुखदेव के अदम्य साहस और बलिदान की स्मृति से जोड़ा।

यात्रा ने यह संदेश दिया कि विश्व शांति, राष्ट्रीय एकता और जन-मैत्री केवल नारे नहीं, बल्कि हमारे सामूहिक आचरण और सामाजिक जिम्मेदारी का हिस्सा होने चाहिए।

भारत से लेकर नीदरलैंड तक जुड़े लोगों की सहभागिता ने यह भी प्रमाणित किया कि शांति और मैत्री की कोई सीमा नहीं होती। हुसैनीवाला में शहीदों की स्मृति में प्रज्वलित मोमबत्तियों के साथ यात्रियों ने यह संकल्प दोहराया कि भारत की आजादी के लिए अपने प्राण न्योछावर करने वाले महान स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों की विरासत को नई पीढ़ी तक पहुंचाया जाएगा और भारत सहित पूरे दक्षिण एशिया में शांति, सद्भाव और लोगों के बीच मैत्री को मजबूत करने के प्रयास निरंतर जारी रहेंगे।

आग़ाज़-ए-दोस्ती अमन यात्रा 2026 का समापन इसी संकल्प के साथ हुआ—

“शांति हमारी मंज़िल नहीं, हमारी सतत यात्रा है;

मैत्री हमारा संदेश नहीं, हमारी जीवन-प्रतिबद्धता है।”

आग़ाज़-ए-दोस्ती के अग्रणी और प्रेरक व्यक्तियों को युवाओं की भावपूर्ण श्रद्धांजलि

आग़ाज़-ए-दोस्ती अमन यात्रा का एक अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण और भावनात्मक क्षण वह था, जब यात्रा में शामिल युवा यात्रियों ने उन महान पायनियर्स, मेंटर्स और मार्गदर्शकों को याद किया, जिन्होंने अपने जीवन, संघर्ष और समर्पण से शांति, अहिंसा, सामाजिक न्याय, सांप्रदायिक सद्भाव, राष्ट्रीय एकता तथा भारत-पाकिस्तान के बीच जन-मैत्री की भावना को मजबूत करने का कार्य किया।

यात्रा केवल स्थानों की यात्रा नहीं थी; यह विचारों और विरासतों की यात्रा भी थी। युवाओं ने स्वीकार किया कि आज वे जिस शांति और दोस्ती के संदेश को लेकर आगे बढ़ रहे हैं, उसकी नींव उन महान व्यक्तित्वों ने रखी थी, जिन्होंने अपने समय में सीमाओं, विभाजनों और संकीर्णताओं से ऊपर उठकर इंसान को इंसान से जोड़ने का प्रयास किया।

इस अवसर पर युवाओं ने एक-एक करके अपने इन प्रेरणास्रोतों को स्मरण किया और उनके प्रति श्रद्धासुमन अर्पित किए।

श्री कुलदीप नैयर — संवाद और जन-मैत्री के अग्रदूत

युवाओं ने प्रख्यात पत्रकार, लेखक और शांति-दूत श्री कुलदीप नैयर को सर्वप्रथम श्रद्धापूर्वक स्मरण किया। कुलदीप नैयर ने भारत और पाकिस्तान के लोगों के बीच संवाद, सद्भाव और विश्वास कायम करने के लिए अपना जीवन समर्पित किया। उनका दृढ़ विश्वास था कि सरकारों के संबंधों में चाहे कितने ही उतार-चढ़ाव क्यों न आएं, दोनों देशों के आम लोगों के बीच दोस्ती की डोर मजबूत रहनी चाहिए।

आग़ाज़-ए-दोस्ती की भावना में उनकी सोच आज भी जीवित है। युवाओं ने कहा कि कुलदीप नैयर की विरासत उन्हें यह प्रेरणा देती है कि शांति केवल बैठकर चाहने से नहीं आती, बल्कि उसके लिए लोगों के बीच जाना, संवाद करना और विश्वास का वातावरण बनाना पड़ता है।
