Building Global Partnerships for Peace: A Meaningful Dialogue with the Church of Scientology, Netherlands
The Church of Scientology, founded by L. Ron Hubbard in 1954, is an international religious and humanitarian organization that promotes personal development, ethical living, human rights, drug prevention, literacy, and community service. Through its humanitarian initiatives, the organization seeks to inspire individuals and communities to create a better and more peaceful world.
During my visit to the Netherlands, I had the honour of visiting the the Church of Scientology Amsterdam along with Mrs. Krishna Kanta Rai, representing the Gandhi Global Family.
We were warmly welcomed by Gerbring Deninum, and our meeting was marked by a cordial and constructive exchange of ideas. Our discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between our organizations in promoting the universal values of truth, non-violence, compassion, love, human dignity, and peaceful coexistence. We explored ways to work together in building a peaceful, drug-free, violence-free, and war-free society.
The Scientology representative observed that there are striking similarities between the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi and the humanitarian ideals of L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology. Both emphasized the importance of moral responsibility, human dignity, ethical living, and the capacity of every individual to contribute positively to society. We agreed that these universal values are more relevant today than ever before.
During the interaction, I shared the profound message of Acharya Vinoba Bhave:
"Science without spirituality leads to destruction; science with spirituality leads to development."
This timeless thought resonated deeply with the participants and led to a meaningful discussion on the need to combine scientific progress with ethical and spiritual values for the welfare of humanity.
The delegation expressed keen interest in the peace initiatives inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, Acharya Vinoba Bhave, and Didi Nirmala Deshpande, particularly the people-to-people peace efforts being carried out across South Asia through the Aaghaz-e-Dosti Peace Yatra. They appreciated the significance of the forthcoming Peace Yatra beginning this August and expressed confidence that it would become an important milestone in strengthening peace, friendship, and regional harmony.
Both organizations agreed, in principle, to explore opportunities for future collaboration in India as well as in other parts of the world. Areas of common interest include peacebuilding, interfaith dialogue, youth engagement, humanitarian cooperation, non-violence, and the promotion of universal human values.
This interaction reaffirmed our shared belief that lasting peace can only be achieved through dialogue, mutual respect, compassion, and cooperation. As Mahatma Gandhi reminded us, peace is not merely an ideal but a way of life. By building bridges across cultures, faiths, and nations, we can together create a more compassionate, just, and harmonious world.

गांधी ग्लोबल फैमिली एवं चर्च ऑफ साइंटोलॉजी के बीच विश्व शांति हेतु सहयोग पर सार्थक संवाद
एम्स्टर्डम (नीदरलैंड), 12 जुलाई 2026।
गांधी ग्लोबल फैमिली के महासचिव अधिवक्ता राम मोहन राय एवं श्रीमती कृष्णा कांता राय ने नीदरलैंड स्थित चर्च ऑफ साइंटोलॉजी का दौरा किया। इस अवसर पर संगठन के प्रतिनिधि श्री गर्ब्रिंग डेनिनम (Gerbring Deninum) ने उनका आत्मीय स्वागत किया।
बैठक के दौरान दोनों संगठनों के प्रतिनिधियों के बीच विश्व शांति, अहिंसा, मानवीय मूल्यों तथा अंतरराष्ट्रीय सहयोग जैसे महत्वपूर्ण विषयों पर विस्तृत विचार-विमर्श हुआ। चर्च ऑफ साइंटोलॉजी, जिसकी स्थापना एल. रॉन हबर्ड ने वर्ष 1954 में की थी, विश्वभर में नैतिक जीवन, मानवाधिकार, नशामुक्ति, साक्षरता तथा सामुदायिक सेवा के क्षेत्र में सक्रिय मानवीय कार्यक्रम संचालित करता है।
वार्ता के दौरान दोनों पक्षों ने इस बात पर सहमति व्यक्त की कि सत्य, अहिंसा, प्रेम, करुणा, मानवीय गरिमा और शांतिपूर्ण सह-अस्तित्व जैसे सार्वभौमिक मूल्यों के आधार पर नशामुक्त, हिंसामुक्त एवं युद्धमुक्त विश्व के निर्माण के लिए संयुक्त प्रयास किए जाने चाहिए।
साइंटोलॉजी के प्रतिनिधि ने कहा कि महात्मा गांधी और एल. रॉन हबर्ड के मानवीय विचारों में अनेक समानताएँ हैं। दोनों ने नैतिक उत्तरदायित्व, मानव गरिमा तथा समाज के प्रति प्रत्येक व्यक्ति की सकारात्मक भूमिका पर बल दिया है।
इस अवसर पर राम मोहन राय ने आचार्य विनोबा भावे के प्रसिद्ध विचार को साझा किया—
" विज्ञान- आध्यात्मिक =विनाश.
विज्ञान + आध्यात्मिक= विकास"
इस विचार की प्रतिनिधियों ने मुक्त कंठ से सराहना की तथा विज्ञान और आध्यात्मिक मूल्यों के समन्वय पर सार्थक चर्चा हुई।
बैठक में महात्मा गांधी, आचार्य विनोबा भावे एवं दीदी निर्मला देशपांडे के शांति प्रयासों तथा दक्षिण एशिया में आयोजित होने वाली आगाज़-ए-दोस्ती अमन यात्रा पर भी विस्तार से चर्चा हुई। साइंटोलॉजी के प्रतिनिधियों ने अगस्त में प्रारम्भ होने वाली इस यात्रा का स्वागत करते हुए विश्वास व्यक्त किया कि यह पहल क्षेत्रीय सद्भाव, मैत्री और विश्व शांति को नई दिशा प्रदान करेगी।
दोनों संगठनों ने भारत सहित विश्व के विभिन्न देशों में शांति स्थापना, अंतरधार्मिक संवाद, युवा सहभागिता, मानवीय सहयोग तथा सार्वभौमिक मानवीय मूल्यों के प्रसार के लिए भविष्य में मिलकर कार्य करने की सहमति व्यक्त की।
इस अवसर पर राम मोहन राय ने बताया कि उन्हें 18 जुलाई, नेल्सन मंडेला अंतरराष्ट्रीय दिवस के अवसर पर चर्च ऑफ साइंटोलॉजी, नीदरलैंड द्वारा अतिथि वक्ता के रूप में आमंत्रित किया गया है। इस अवसर पर वे गांधीजी के शांति, अहिंसा और वैश्विक मैत्री के संदेश को अंतरराष्ट्रीय मंच पर प्रस्तुत करेंगे।
गांधी ग्लोबल फैमिली का मानना है कि वर्तमान वैश्विक परिस्थितियों में विभिन्न संस्कृतियों, आस्थाओं और देशों के बीच संवाद एवं सहयोग ही स्थायी विश्व शांति का आधार बन सकता है। यह बैठक उसी दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण और सकारात्मक पहल सिद्ध होगी।
